In life we all at times find ourselves, or our loved ones, feeling stuck, confused, or even more disheartened – without hope! Counseling/Therapy is about unraveling the story and learning to write a new narrative and ending that is both healthy and fulfilling especially around the issues of intimacy, trauma, and sexuality. With over 30 years of counseling experience, Michael is a Psychotherapist and Clinical Sexologist holding dual Master’s Degrees and a Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology. Also, a Diplomate with the American Board of Sexology, and a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), focusing on all aspects of intimacy, trauma, and sexuality both for an individual and in relationship with other.
As a Clinical Sexologist his goals are to…
…help people transition from unhealthy sexual thoughts, habits, feelings and behaviors, and learn how to openly explore, appreciate, and enjoy healthy sexuality.
…provide a safe and professional place to discuss sensitive sexual issues without fear of exposure or judgement.
..help people affirm their sexual and gender identity, expression and behavior.
..help individuals and couples experience and embrace intimacy in a satisfying sexual connection.
…educate and support healthcare professionals, and those they serve, on the meaning of healthy sexuality and sexual practices.
…help when sex and/or sexuality become problematic, compulsive or out of control (addiction).
Michael is also a consultant for the Lawyer and Judges Assistance Program (LJAP) with the State Bar of Michigan, and consultant for the Macomb County Friend of the Court, and is an adjunct professor at Siena Heights University. In the community he is a safe ally for those in the LGBT+.
